A Far Shore (2022)

Seventeen-year-old Aoi lives with her husband Masaya and her young son Kengo. Aoi entrusted Kengo to her grandmother and worked at a cabaret club until morning with her friend Mio for her living, but her husband Masaya, who worked at a construction site, complained. Quitting her job, Aoi’s income alone becomes more and more difficult. Masaya didn’t even try to find a new job for her, and at some point she began to use violence against Aoi. Meanwhile, Aoi is unable to work at the cabaret club due to harassment. Her bad deeds pile up, Masaya takes out what little savings she has, and she disappears. She reluctantly starts living at her mother-in-law Yukie’s house, and Aoi looks for a daytime job for her, but it doesn’t go well. A settlement fee will be required. In desperation, Aoi receives an invitation to a certain job from the manager of a cabaret club. What is the future that the girl who became her mother at a young age has arrived in the days when she struggles to resist the chain of poverty and violence?
